🌿 OGA 🌿 — Opportunities for Grassroots Action — was born from a shared longing to reconnect with what truly matters. We are a volunteer-led initiative, a growing community of people who have grown disheartened with the corporate structures and systems that dominate the world today. Many of us felt the same call: we want to help, but how? Where do we start? Who do we reach out to?
OGA was created to be the answer to those questions — a living hub for grassroots initiatives that connects people with causes that matter. We believe that everyone has something valuable to offer, and that when we come together with purpose, change becomes not only possible but inevitable.
Why We Created OGA
Our journey began with a deep respect and admiration for Indigenous peoples and their ways of being — circular, rooted, and profoundly collective. From the quilombolas of Brazil to communities in the Amazon, to movements across the Global South, we have seen how people facing adversity embody resilience, care, and wisdom.
For them, community is not a concept — it’s a way of life. For many in the West, however, the culture of individual achievement and hustle has disconnected us from that truth. 🌿 OGA 🌿 exists to help us remember it.
We are here to learn from these ancestral ways — to go back to our roots, to a decolonial, regenerative, and relational way of living and collaborating.
A Hub for Connection and Collaboration
OGA is a space where people can find each other: volunteers, activists, translators, artists, storytellers, educators, and dreamers. A place to share what you know, ask for help, support others, or simply be inspired.
It’s a living network — organic, inclusive, and ever-evolving. A space for those who care deeply about people, planet, and justice. We welcome everyone: communities, allies, and any person who believes in collective care.
Why “OGA”?
Our name comes from the Guarani word oga, meaning “home” or “family.” Because that’s what we aim to be — a connected home for grassroots action. Too often, initiatives claim to be “for the people” yet remain distant in language, culture, and practice from those they serve. We wanted something different — rooted, equitable, and true to our values.
OGA is a space where every voice matters, where diversity is celebrated, and where generosity is a guiding principle.

We are inspired by Ubuntu: “I am because you are.”
Our interconnectedness is what makes us human. Through 🌿 OGA 🌿, we seek to embody that spirit — supporting one another, sharing resources, and weaving a web of solidarity across borders.
We are still small, but our vision is vast — to nurture a regenerative future grounded in empathy, equity, and action.
