Tapi Yawalapiti is the Chief and Guardian of the Upper Xingu Legacy, carrying forward the mission of his late father, the revered Chief Aritana. He leads the Yawalapiti people and the Instituto Aritana to protect the Upper Xingu’s forests, rivers, and cultural survival. Tapi is a globally recognized Indigenous leader, blending ancestral wisdom with modern advocacy. His work focuses on regeneration, cultural preservation, and fighting for Indigenous rights and autonomy in Brazil.
