These guardians stand as fierce advocates for territorial defense, biodiversity preservation, and the rights of future generations, embodying an alternative vision for human existence rooted in reciprocity and care.
Instituto Despertare
The Despertare Institute of Social and Cultural Action is a non-profit organization dedicated to the motto “Awaken kindness, change lives” (Desperte a bondade, mude vidas). Despertare was founded by and is directed by Fernanda Mendonça, a mother of a boy on the autism spectrum in Pradópolis, São Paulo, Brazil. The Institute focuses on providing support to parents, family members, friends, and individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, giftedness, and similar neurological divergences.
Raízes Sustainable Development

It uses entrepreneurship (in sectors like sustainable tourism and creative economy) to empower vulnerable groups and strengthen socio-biodiversity.

DEI Declassified
In an era where corporate slogans often replace genuine systemic reform, DEI Declassified stands out as a courageous, volunteer-driven movement demanding clarity and accountability in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). This independent initiative works to expose the growing disconnect between an organization’s public commitments and its actual practices. By shining a light on these gaps, DEI Declassified promotes honest dialogue, fosters transparency, and encourages organizations to move from performative language to substantive change rooted in real equity.
Indique
Indique is a Connection Consultancy specializing in Diversity & Racial Inclusion. Its core mission is to bridge the gap between the Black community and the job market. Indique provides services for companies, including Diversity and Communication consulting, Affirmative Job Recruiting, and sensitization workshops for leadership. The organization actively works to accelerate the inclusion of Black professionals in corporate environments and runs Indique Uma Preta, a support, referral and career development network for Black women.
Rawanee
Rawanee is a Creative Arts Collective founded by the South Asian diaspora, specializing in Literary & Performing Arts and Community Creativity. Its core mission is to preserve and nurture multi-lingual expression by amplifying the voices of the Global Majority and those with lived experience of refugee and migration journeys, with a focus on authenticity and decolonization. Rawanee fosters this community through international poetry events, publications, and partnerships, including collaboration with SOAS, the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London. The organization is also recognized as a registered Poetry Society Stanza.
Projeto Pétalas
Projeto Pétalas (Petals Project) is a non-profit initiative created by the Despertare Institute for Social and Cultural Action that functions as a “garden of welcome and sisterhood.” The project provides women with a safe space to share experiences, learn together, and build a support network. It offers inspiring encounters (virtual and in-person), conversation circles, and activities focused on self-care, art, female community and reflection.
Aldeia Verde
The Instituto Etnoambiental y Multicultural Aldeia Verde (IEMAV), which translates to the Ethno-Environmental and Multicultural Green Village Institute, is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Indigenous peoples across Brazil and Latin America. IEMAV’s vision combines ancestral wisdom with contemporary regenerative development, strengthening communities through projects that respect territory, culture, and autonomy. The Institute promotes the preservation of ecosystems, languages, and traditions while empowering women and supporting community leadership, education, health, and culturally grounded income generation.
We Are Still Here (WASH)
Since 2024, WASH, in partnership with the University of Sussex in the UK, has been working with students from Gaza’s destroyed universities, offering mentorship and training to help them continue their education. Despite the genocide and systematic destruction of academic life, these resilient students are writing to bear witness. We Are Still Here (WASH) is an anthology of their urgent voices. They are currently fundraising and every contribution is a lifeline. All book royalties go directly to the student authors.
AMYK (Kumirayoma Yanomami Women’s Association)
The Associação das Mulheres Yanomami Kumirayoma (AMYK), led by president Carlinha Yanomami, is a critical voice advocating for the health, dignity, and cultural preservation of the Yanomami people in the Amazon. Facing the severe impacts of illegal mining and external threats, AMYK organizes and mobilizes its female members to defend their land and their children from environmental destruction and malnutrition. The Association embodies the strength of Indigenous women’s leadership, linking ancestral knowledge with political action to secure the future of their territories.
Language for Justice
Language should never be a barrier, but rather a tool for solidarity and equity. It is with this vision that Language for Justice (L4J) works tirelessly, acting as a decolonial communication initiative that transforms activism.
Born from an urgent need in Gaza and the West Bank, L4J is now a global network of volunteer language professionals dedicated to ensuring that the voices of marginalized communities are heard in any tongue, building bridges for social justice around the world.

The Peaceland Foundation is a humanitarian organization with ECOSOC special consultative status.
Peaceland is dedicated to global disaster relief, medical assistance, and sustainable development.
Over the years, the Foundation has led numerous international missions, including medical rescue vessels across the coastal regions in the Global South, Afghan girls’ education, disaster relief capacity building in Tanzania, mine clearance in Cambodia, etc.
Owner of my flow
Menstrual poverty is a silent barrier that hinders the education and dignity of millions of girls and women. The Dona do Meu Fluxo project (Owner of My Flow) was born as a powerful response to this crisis, promoting the donation of menstrual cups and educational workshops in vulnerable communities across Latin America. More than providing a sustainable product, the initiative, supported by OGA, empowers women to reconnect with their bodies and become the owners not only of their cycles but of the flow of their own lives.

Carrying forward the visionary legacy of the late Chief Aritana Yawalapiti, the Instituto Aritana stands as a key organization dedicated to the longevity of the Xingu Indigenous Territory.
Led by his son and successor, Chief Tapi Yawalapiti, its mission is multifaceted: protecting the region’s forests and rivers, preserving the cultural integrity of the Xingu peoples, and advocating for Indigenous self-determination.

The Permaculture and Palestine Network is a powerful initiative rooted in the ethics of Earth Care, People Care, and Fair Share, transforming the principles of permaculture into a strategy for non-violent resistance and self-sufficiency. In the face of occupation and environmental destruction, this network supports Palestinian farmers and communities in rebuilding food sovereignty, restoring traditional Baladi farming practices, and promoting ecological regeneration as a core act of resilience and cultural defense.

“Let’s Read”, the project in the “1 Million Asmaas” Impact Campaign, is dedicated to strengthening refugee teenage girls in Syrian camps through literacy and grassroots support. The Initiative’s philosophy is inspired by activist Asmaa Rashed, featured on the award-winning documentary “The Neighborhood Storyteller”. Asmaa’s work demonstrates how read-aloud circles build self-worth, resilience, and autonomy, fostering education and mental well-being in vulnerable communities, empowering girls to determine their own choices in the face of displacement.

UVM Institute for Agroecology
The UVM Institute for Agroecology (IFA), based at the University of Vermont (UVM), is dedicated to creating more equitable and sustainable food systems. The SUMOOD Fund is a newly established, participatory fund and civil society support organization committed to promoting grassroots-led rebuilding efforts throughout the SWANA (South West Asia and North Africa) region. Created by and for the people of this region, the SUMOOD Fund aims to address the deep-rooted causes and damaging consequences of imperialism and conflict, while prioritizing the dignity and autonomy of its communities. The fund is developed and led by frontline organizers with diverse, localized expertise in the critical issues affecting SWANA countries, working to empower grassroots initiatives through funding and capacity building. Bystanders No More (BNM) is dedicated to empowering people who believe in universal human rights and often remain silent due to fear, a sense of powerlessness, or lack of knowledge. While their immediate focus is on mobilizing action for human rights in Palestine, their mission is to address the systemic behavior of being a bystander to injustice. By providing supportive education and trustworthy, tailored resources, Bystanders No More helps concerned citizens move past fear and silence. Their goal is to facilitate actionable steps—such as lobbying elected officials, starting conversations, and joining relevant movements—ensuring every voice is heard in the ongoing fight for collective human rights.
Catharsis Holistic Healing
Catharsis Holistic Healing addresses the urgent need for trauma support among Palestinians, recognizing that decades of violence have resulted in Continuous Traumatic Stress Disorder. Ashira Prem Rachana founded this initiative as a compassionate, grassroots response, driven by the need to assist her people with methods unavailable elsewhere in marginalized communities. The project offers free, culturally rooted holistic therapy for liberation, utilizing diverse modalities including Breathwork, Somatic therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique, EMDR, Yoga, and Art therapy. Ashira leverages her experience to speak truth to injustice, ensuring healing is accessible. Fellow therapists globally are invited to volunteer sessions and contribute to this vital support network.
